Steamboat is a cute Cowboy town with some really good skiing and, unusual for America, has ski-in and out accommodation, although it's easy enough to stay in town and use the efficient bus service.

There are plenty of good eateries both on and off the slopes and powder storms often create excellent skiing conditions.

Tree skiing is a feature of this area, as are hot-air ballooon rides - an experience not to be missed.
